Nel Mooy has been appointed as managing director of Towergate's independent unemployment, accident and sickness insurer, British Insurance.
Ms Mooy takes over the leadership role from Simon Burgess who leaves the Colchester-based Company to provide unemployment insurance in the United States.
She was previously head of direct marketing and offer at Axa Insurance and held a number of positions with the insurer for over nine years in roles focussing on online propositions and marketing.
Prior to this she worked in IT development and with Reuters in the UK and the Netherlands.
Mr Burgess said: “I’m delighted Nel is at the helm, British Insurance has a reputation for integrity and being a company you can trust, and she is well-placed to build upon this. Nel is highly competent, cares about consumers and is a ‘safe pair of hands’ to move the business forward.”
Amanda Blanc, deputy CEO of Towergate Partnership, said: “We’re well-known for recruiting talented and motivated people and Nel is no exception to this. She will be crucial in helping us develop and extend our portfolio to better meet consumers’ lifestyle needs.”
