According to the Government a dog is not just for Christmas, it is should be for Lloyd’s too, writes Emmanuel Kenning, reporter at PB.
On Tuesday [9 March] the home secretary Alan Johnson announced plans to force the owners of Britain's eight million dogs to take out third party liability insurance (www.broking.co.uk/1595546).
It is fair to say it was not an announcement greeted by universal rapture. A spokesperson for the Association of British Insurers said: "We don't think it is a practical idea or one that will get much enthusiasm in the insurance industry."
