GAB Robins has appointed Mark Wookey to the newly-created role of casualty operations manager.

Mr Wookey joins the company from Merlin Claims Services, where he was Southern regional liability manager.

He will be responsible for all operational management directly aligned to the improvement of the service delivered to GAB Robins’ clients and work closely with the casualty service line team.

Commenting on the development of the operation, Kim Alcock, casualty director, said: “GAB Robins has a clear and ongoing commitment to investing in the growth of the Casualty Service Line. We are building an experienced team focused on customer service that is gaining increasing interest from clients and attracting high profile industry talent such as Mark.

“We believe our clear service-orientated approach gives us a strong position in a market where many are losing focus on clients’ needs. This new role has come as a direct result of the success of this strategy.”

GAB Robins said it will shortly be announcing further senior appointments in the casualty division.
