Towergate Underwriting has opened its new office in Newcastle to serve brokers based in the North East and Cumbria.
The new team of underwriters is led by branch manager Jon Hipkin, who has over 20 years experience supporting brokers across the region.
At an official launch event held at the Sage Conference Centre in Gateshead, Towergate Underwriting CEO, Clive Nathan, explained that this new capability had been established as part of Towergate‘s commitment to supporting brokers locally and will provide expert underwriting and advice across a wide range of Towergate products.
Towergate said it recently undertook research among brokers which revealed that many preferred dealing with businesses which had a local presence and could respond better to their particular needs and requirements.
Mr Nathan said, “This new underwriting presence demonstrates a significant investment in supporting brokers locally at a time when many of the larger insurers are downsizing or moving out of the regions. We can now give our brokers in the North East and Cumbria access to local underwriters who really understand their business and who they can trade with face to face.”
